I came home from work one day and noticed a package on my porch. I didn’t notice the return address and wasn’t expecting any packages. Imagine my surprise when I opened it and it was a copy of this book courtesy of Ballantine Marketing and Random House. Not sure how they found me, but so glad they did. This book is a must read.

So, this review will not include much detail as I don’t want to give anything away.

Vivian Miller, our protagonist, is a CIA Analyst focusing on uncovering identities of Russian spies. Very early on in the book Vivian discovers information that will put her career and family in danger; the rest reads like a season of Homeland. I loved it. You will too.

The chapters were short and addicting. The flow in which they were written made me feel as though I was reading at a much quicker pace. I especially liked how scenes would flashback in time: a foreshadowing of things to come.

The film rights were sold to Universal for Charlize Theron: it certainly will make an interesting movie.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! If you have already read it and agree/disagree, I would love to hear from you: drop a comment below.

  1. “The chapters were short and addicting.” This appeals to me so much. As I get older I have a harder and harder time staying focus for long periods of time.
