From the author of The Wife Between Us comes a story of a marriage that one day seemed fine on the outside, and in a matter of a minute a secret will tear it apart. I enjoyed every addicting, fast moving chapter.
Josie asks to borrow her husband’s phone to make a call when she discovers an email that will change her life and marriage as she knows it. Instead of collapsing she takes an investigative approach and is determined to figure out what happened. Throughout the story she will work through memories to find where it all may have gone wrong.
Although she didn’t collapse she was devastated, but she was stronger than she gave herself credit for. She didn’t ask for her marriage to fall apart, but it happened and she is forced to reflect on what she wants – and if she can forgive – on her own terms. She doesn’t know what these terms are and will work through them throughout the story.
I enjoy quick, thought-provoking reads. It may have not gone nitty gritty into Josie’s inner thoughts, but it did make you pause and think. What would I do if I were Josie? What would I do if I were Frank? This would certainly be a good book club discussion.
Have you read ‘The Ever After’ or another book by Sarah Pekkanen? Do tell.
Side note: I am happy to report that this is my 100th post!!! For that, I have given myself a pat on the back and will splurge on a venti latte at Starbucks for my efforts 😉
I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Congrats on your 100th post! I tend to stick to books about happy couples, but I’ve got to say I’m tempted – I have to find out what the email said.

Congrats on 100 posts! I did not read this one, but I read The Wife Between Us and didn’t like it as much as many others did. I gave it 3.5 stars.

So far I’d have to say it’s Don’t Believe It by Charlie Donlea. That ending blew me away.
I reviewed it on my blog a couple of weeks back.

I really loved that book! Definitely a favorite amongst suspense reads. I really enjoyed his other book too, Summit Lake, which is why I read Don’t Believe It. Summit Lake is reviewed on my blog as well.
And I thought Our Little Secret by Roz Nay was good too, even with the confusing ending, which we discussed.😊
