Joe is a loving husband and father: a grade school teacher, steady eddie type who doesn’t enjoy conflict. I feel he was rather frustrating in that he never gets mad enough (you will see what I mean). He and his son are driving home when they spot his wife’s car (Mel, who is supposed to be at work) pulling into a hotel. They of course follow her to surprise her. There he finds Mel meeting up with her best friend’s husband, Ben; who is in a mad state. After a scuffle with Joe, Ben goes missing. Guess who is the suspect?
It is a wild ride – love or hate the ending – its one that suspense fans will likely enjoy.
The book may seem big at 422 pages, but the chapters are super quick and move swiftly from one to the next. I read the last 60% of this book in one day- in a few hours – it’s one of those reads. You will be like “what the heck is going on here?!” You may think you know but you will certainly not. I could not have predicted that ending; nope, not even close. For those reasons I had to give it a 4. Did I love the ending? Well…I didn’t hate it; it certainly left me speechless. I am looking forward to discussing it with other readers, so go get it and circle back with me when you are done!
UK followers: this book is available now (you don’t have to wait until next week!) and branded as “The sensational #1 bestselling psychological thriller.”
US followers: the first 8 chapters are free on kindle. Give it a whirl to see if you vibe with it.
I received an arc of this book from St. Martin’s Press & NetGalley for my honest review.

I don’t quite get why the 4 stars… haha I this like Gone Girl? I think I have to read more of this genre… 60 % in one day is crazy! Crazy good haha light reads help a lot with the TBR haha

There was so much more I wanted to say, BUT I don’t do spoilers. I hope you can read between the lines and when you read it you will be like “a-ha! I know what she meant now!” 😉

I get more with so-so books. I had some, I most some. Strange Bodies was like that. It had excellent reviews and a gripping summary. In reality, it moved like arthritis on a cold day. Yikes.

Oh mylanta! This one moved super quick and then boom! I was a bit stunned, but I figured even if I was thrown a bit off, it definitely did what it was supposed to do and that was make me whip through it like a bag of potato chips. Books like that are always hard to rate, because I don’t have to like the ending but then I do…its so hard to explain! But, you probably understand too 🙂

Oh, the short ones the ones that are about 250 pages do that to me. Psych. Thrillers that are short have strange yet unexpected endings

I loved this one! It definitely is fast paced, which is the way I like my thrillers, and the ending did surprise me. I’m typically able to guess the ending and I was able to guess part of this one, but not the whole thing.
