First things first: what a pretty book cover, it’s certainly intriguing. I am a huge fan of suspense books: the build up and the ending need to impress.
Like the book cover, the story did not disappoint.
I was addicted from the start and the chapters move so quick it wasn’t hard to keep saying “just one more chapter.”
So many secrets! With a twisty ending. You may catch on at the beginning of the end, but its the decisions that follow that leave you to gasp.
Geo Shaw, Angela Wong, and Kaiser are the three best friends that anyone could ever have. (Where you singing that sentence like I was while writing it?) Angela is the popular and pretty one; Geo is often in her shadow yet possesses her own beauty she isn’t confident about just yet; and, Kaiser is in love with Geo although she “doesn’t know” yet she does. Enter Calvin James who is mysterious, handsome, devilishly charming and 5 years older than the teens. Calvin will be Geo’s first love. Angela is jealous, Kaiser is heartbroken, Geo is in too deep.
Angela disappears and fourteen years later her remains are finally found in Geo’s backyard. She is one of the victims of serial killer Calvin James (yeap, that’s right…Geo’s ex-boyfriend!). Geo knew what happened to Angela and all those years kept it a secret. She has a lot of those. Although she may seem like a terrible person and friend, you will feel empathy towards her. Read the book and find out why.
When Geo returns home from prison someone is trying to send her a message in the form of murders similar to Angela’s. Kaiser – now a police detective – wants to know what Calvin wants with her after all these years and falls deep into his investigation; but is there something he is missing? Has Geo talked to Calvin this whole time? What does Geo know about the new murders? Kaiser wants to find out but will his suppressed feelings for Geo get in the way?
Its a wild thriller: the characters are a mash up of Orange is the New Black and Dexter.
There was one small thing with the ending that left a little bit of bile in my mouth, it was over as quickly as it was said but I couldn’t shake the feeling. Curious what other readers thought!
Suspense fans grab this one and read stat – so we can discuss.

Sounds like a book I would read! And I love shorter chapters that leave you saying “just one more chapter and then I’ll put the book down”. yeah, that doesn’t really happen
