What the feature photo is telling us: by the looks of Kobe, he isn’t buying what Maurice is selling…but would you?! That is the question you will ask yourself time and time again reading Boyne’s latest novel A Ladder to the Sky.

Character Henrietta James would call this one crafty and clever. 😉

Maurice Swift has always wanted two things. One to be a famous writer, and two…read the book to find out, no spoilers from me. What and who would he do – and do in – to climb that ladder? No one is safe.

Chace Crawford could totally play Maurice

Maurice is charming, manipulative, narcissistic. Some fall for it, some don’t. In some cases I felt a bit for Maurice…was I a victim of his charm too?!

Fans of Boyne’s The Heart’s Invisible Furies (my favorite read of 2017!) would be happy to know there is a Maude Avery reference thrown in for good measure. How I loved Cyril Avery, but I digress. Maurice is also in a league of his own and the ending Boyne delivers in A Ladder to the Sky is fantastic! Superb!

Captivating start, “wow” he did that middle, intense cat & mouse closing and then BAM that ending!” – Nikki Maurice Swift

Can’t wait to hear what you all think of this one too, because how can you not read a John Boyne book?! Am I right?!
