Book Review: A Coldwater Warm Hearts Christmas by Lexi Eddings

Doesn’t that throw look super comfy?! It is! I got it at Indigo for $35 (since I purchased a bit of books I was able to get a promo price). Okay, now back to the book…

It’s Book 3 in a series, but it can be read as a standalone

I came across this book at Target and the cover screamed “cute holiday love story in a small, cozy town.” I was thinking Hallmark movie and what I got was more in line with an ABC after school special: looks can be deceiving.

As with any small town book, there are usually multiple story lines a brewing. This one did not fall short of that; there were actually a bit too many.

The main story was set around a school teacher, Angie, who is a fan of Sense and Sensibility, and a local construction manager, Seth, who finds her noted copy of said book and uses the information to get to know her better. Cute right? But then all these people have things going on around them and it takes away from building a stronger story for them (or at least these stories didn’t flow into Angie and Seth’s, they just chopped it up a bit).

I don’t do spoilers so it will pain me to not state a few things: like one of the major things I dislike about love stories (which happens in this book). But, happy to discuss with anyone off line if you want to know! 😉

I want someone to read it so I have someone to talk about it with. It was a quick read for anyone willing to try! You can even have my copy.

  1. I hope your reading slump picks up with your next read. Tap your heels together 3 times and say ‘There’s no place like 5 disco balls’ and I am confident that it will happen.

  2. I wanted to read this book too! I saw it in Target and it looked like an instant Target read to me too! Ugh I will probably avoid it then. Although I do recommend that you get The Christmas Company I found it in Target too and it has much better reviews than this one!
