“I had absolutely no interest in being somebody else’s muse.
I am not a muse.
I am the somebody.
End of f*cking story.”
– Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones & The Six

Published: March 5, 2019 by Ballantine Books
Category: Fiction, Music
It was also a February Book of the Month choice
On March 5th, the highly anticipated Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid – author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo – will hit bookshelves: RUN don’t walk to your local bookstore.
You will not want to miss out on this: think Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga chemistry meets an episode of VH1 Storytellers on Fleetwood Mac’s behind the scenes drama.
Written as the transcription of an interview, it goes back and forth between band members (and those close to the band) walking us through the making of the band and its ultimate demise. In the same fashion as author Taylor Jenkins Reid’s The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, that ending…
I read this book mostly in one sitting. You can whip through it quickly and it will make you want to listen to old school rock-n-roll when you are done. It should be no secret that I love music as much as I love reading; Random House created the perfect Spotify playlist to correspond with this book. The first song Poison & Wine by The Civil Wars will give you all the Aurora feels: you will know what I mean when you read the book 😉
I want to thank the kind folks at Ballantine Books who provided me with an advanced reader’s copy of ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’. It was an honor to be able to read one of my favorite new author’s work before pub date. XO, Nikki

If I hadn’t already wanted to read this, you would’ve sold me! Your playlist is amazing, too. “Romeo and Juliet” by Dire Straits is one of my favorite underrated songs. Might have to go listen to it now…
