My current reading mood = light, feel good, summer vibes. I just want to read books you would enjoy poolside, lakeside, or oceanside even if I am just reading from the couch.
Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating is my 2nd Christina Lauren book and I’m totally here for it. It was super fun, quirky, and the quick read I needed.
I listened mostly to the audiobook but read the ending as I had the paperback too. The narration was okay – the story was super fun – but I recommend reading this one over listening (unless you have a road trip in store; than this could be your jam; its the perfect long drive listen).
Hazel = a party girl with a Peter Pan syndrome mentality. She is easy-going and a loyal friend.
Josh = an introvert who would rather spend his free time relaxing at home. He is caring and understanding, and a perfectly written love interest character. I could have just said he was gentlemanly to keep it short but I can’t help but be long-winded.
Josh & Hazel bump into each other 10 years after their college years and spark up a friendship. Well, Hazel forces Josh into a friendship but you don’t see Josh fighting it off by any means. The chemistry and sexual tension between them builds up as they go on multiple blind double dates; in which they’re picking the partner for the other. It’s such a fun premise and the blind dates themselves are hysterical. Will they ever realize that they are not “Not Dating?”
You can easily devour this one in a sitting or two. Hope you enjoy it!

Nice review. Sometimes I love a nice summer book that you can just binge really fast – doesn’t have to be life changing – just a good afternoon read.

I found this book pretty okay, since it was really predictable. However, Christina Lauren’s My Favourite Half Night Stand was hilarious and so fluffy and all. You should totally give it a try, if you haven’t read that already.
