I can’t get enough of the people from Beartown. Although I don’t think I could live in a place where winter was three-quarters of the year…brrr.

Us Against You is bestselling author Fredrick Backman’s sequel to his novel Beartown. Both are MUST reads. That is all my review really needs to say: just listen to me, they do not disappoint. (read my Beartown review here)

I am a super fan of thriller/suspense reads and enjoy trying to be a super sleuth at the turn of each chapter. I especially enjoy those bombshells that I do not see coming: the start of this ending did just that! Why the 3.5? I can’t fully explain without giving it away, but the end of the ending – versus the start of it – left me perplexed. I do think this is still worth a read, so that we can discuss your thoughts!Read More »

Two Truths and a Lie. 1) Emma is guilty. 2) Emma is innocent. 3) Emma is going crazy.

I just couldn’t wait until July to share my review: because if you still can try to snag an eBook from Penguin Random House’s First to Read program (free!), well then you must! And, then we can discuss the book’s ending…like whoa!

The ending is what makes a thriller/suspense read; it can certainly save a story (i.e. The Woman in the Window IMO). I was not disappointed with what author, Riley Sager, cooked up for me in his latest The Last Time I LiedRead More »

Ok, I could not put this book down. It was a super quick read and the chapters were short with just enough information that you need to keep on to the next one. I couldn’t really tell where it was going which is great for a suspense read in my opinion. But…Read More »

The Ross Family on the outside are poster children for a successful nuclear family. Bobby and Emma Ross fell in love as children, only loved each other and would get married and have twin girls. Besides what this does to a young daughter the “shameful” event triggers a memory of a painful mistake for Emma (and will affect how she reacts). Bobby can’t comprehend how his daughter could do such a thing and distances himself from the family when they need him the most. The facade of a perfect family is just that, fake. Will this act – along with Emma and Bobby’s actions – be the end of the Ross family?

Before I start, I just have to say that I love this book cover. Book covers are so important and this one certainly is intriguing. The book synopsis…also very intriguing: Bree Valentine wakes up in a hospital room 5 months pregnant with no memories of getting there. Fast forward five years later and she meets this man and the gravitational pull between them sparks memories from a time she had forgotten. Could this mysterious man be the father?Read More »

In a quiet neighborhood, a group of five friends (some more acquaintances), enjoyed a ladies night around the fire-pit: involving a few too many glasses of wine. The next morning one of them, along with her two small children, are missing. When the detectives roll around the ladies don’t remember much of the night (oops, too much wine), nor do they really know much of their neighbor outside of a superficial relationship (what was her marriage really like?). You can imagine the gossip within the small town: did the estranged husband have something to do with it or is he a victim?
