At 20+ hours this audiobook was at times killing me: as in I wanted to know what the heck was going to happen and when I’d look at how much time I had left it never seemed to end! I called my friend who read it and demanded spoilers, because I couldn’t take it anymore to which she lovingly declined. Thank goodness 😉

on a side note: while cooped up at home these next few weeks why not try an audiobook?! They certainly make doing chores more interesting.

Written in my favorite format – alternating past and present chapters – we meet the Sorenson’s and will be taken through the beginning of Marilyn & David’s relationship to the birth of their four girls, and then the four girls with lives of their own. The eldest two, Wendy and Violet, totally remind me of Mary and Edith from Downton Abbey.

There are secrets and betrayals, loss and love. It’s a well written family drama with strong character development.

As much as I complain about having to listen to 20+ hours of a book, I was also ultimately consumed with this family and now that I am finished…well, I miss them.

Q: What is the longest audiobook you’ve listened to? Do tell!
A: Mine was A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara at almost 33 hours. (I did alternate between book and audio, but it was still the longest I’ve listened to!)
