After reading the synopsis, the following duo immediately came to mind:

I am always talking about books I loved, but never the ones I picked up but just couldn’t bring myself to finish. In the past that list was non-existent as I finished most books I started even if I disliked them. This year I made a conscious effort to spend my reading time only with books I truly enjoy: so my DNF (did not finish) list has grown tremendously from years past.

It doesn’t mean these books were terrible, it just means I didn’t jive with them or was ready to put it down before finishing. Because no book is for everyone I will share why I DNF’d but also share a rave review, and you can make up your own mind:Read More »

I just hit the 50% mark of Suzy Krause’s debut novel – Valentine and Valencia – and have a theory on how Valencia and Mrs. Valentine’s lives may intersect: I can’t wait to see if I am right!!!!
This is what I love about reading: that excitement to see how the book will actually wrap up in the end. Hopefully I can get to that within the next few days. I’ve been limited on reading time and trying to sneak in a chapter here and there when I can. Can anyone else relate?!Read More »

🍬 A sugary treat
🍭 An addictive page-turner (Hello Dax!)
🍬 and, as JLo might say a giver of “goosies”

My current reading mood = light, feel good, summer vibes. I just want to read books you would enjoy poolside, lakeside, or oceanside even if I am just reading from the couch.
Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating is my 2nd Christina Lauren book and I’m totally here for it. It was super fun, quirky, and the quick read I needed.

If you couldn’t already tell, I love music just as much as I love books. It’s even better when both are paired together! Finding a soundtrack to a book is super exciting, and creating one is even better. So when I learned about author, Lauren Speeth, and the role music played in writing her novel Thread for Pearls, I knew I had to highlight her work on Saturday Nite Reader.
Speeth will also make a guest appearance on Saturday Nite Reader‘s Instagram stories with her own Top 5 Saturday Nite Jams edition.
Check out Speeth’s article: Spinning a Story with a Soundtrack to learn about her music inspired writing journey. [click Read More below]Read More »

Make your favorite beverage, pull up a chair, take a seat, and get comfy: this book will give you all the warm and fuzzy feel good feels.

If this book was a dessert it would be Strawberry Shortcake – the one with the homemade biscuit and whipped cream – my favorite dessert that is underrated and needs to be served at more restaurants for me to enjoy. Hello restaurants! You taking note here?! XO, Saturday Nite Sweet Tooth
This book is just as good as that smooth red velvet cake or decadent molten lava cake: it doesn’t need the fancy frills to keep you yearning for the next bite. Its simple ingredients are still packed with that addictive sugar…you see what I’m doing here 😉
Okay, too much dessert talk and I feel like I need to bake something. Read More »

#6 of the Copper Ridge Series
When I need a light, quick read to up my reading pace I go with my tried and true Maisey Yates’ Copper Ridge Cowboy series.

Ain’t no shame in my cowboy game. In Need Me, Cowboy Levi Tucker does not disappoint.
