Book 3.5 of The Simple Wild & Wild at Heart series + Forever Wild a novella

I’ve been a bit MIA but I just had to come back and blog about my favorite small town series! If you don’t already know, I had a soft spot for an Alaskan Yeti named Jonah (my main book boyfriend, ha!). So did Marie, his best friend. But she had to watch him fall in love with someone else over the span of 2.5 books. Well now our loyal friend Marie is getting her own well-deserved story. AND, I fear the Yeti may have lost his top spot as my book boyfriend to Tyler Brady (whom I pictured as Sam Hunt).

To rewind, if you haven’t read The Simple Wild series…you MUST! Besides the building love story of the main characters – you cannot help but fall in love with the quaint town and its supporting characters. Which is why I screamed in excitement when I was able to get access to an advanced copy of veterinarian Marie’s story, Running Wild. OH MAN WAS IT GOOD! It was so nice to be back in Alaska…even in the middle of winter here in the Northeast I didn’t mind the fictional cold.

My first Backman book was A Man Called Ove, then I went on to read Beartown and Us Against You; I instantly became an auto-buy Backman fan so when Atria Books provided me with an advanced reader ebook I felt like I WON the lottery!!

Anxious People did not disappoint, the writing was MAGNIFICENT. so clever and sharp. I loved every single character. It wasn’t a thriller per se, but it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

True to its title, my anxiety level while reading was super high.

5 STAR HERO:
It was the perfect rom-com that snapped me out of my reading rut. I DNF’d the 3 books I picked up before this…my rut was on a serious downward spiral, but I digress. I read it in ONE DAY by alternating between audio and book; both of which I loved.

This was my first audiobook with Libro.fm and I am super thankful I was able to listen to it as part of their Influencer ALC program (Audiobook Listening Copies). I ate it up and finished in less than 3 days: which is no surprise as Christina Lauren romances are my jam.

This love story reminds me of when I was a tween playing with my Barbie & Ken dolls. After watching General Hospital with my mom (what is Sonny taking to look the same 20 yrs later) I would think up the most outlandish storylines of how Ken had to win over Barbie. Twice in a Blue Moon was reminiscent of those times: a bit over the top like the Pretty Woman love story but you still watch it, love it, and root for them every time.Read More »
